We've been on a long journey to get to where we are now...
Every hero’s journey begins with a call to adventure, often unexpected, and ours was no different. In 2018, our family of three—myself, Gary, my wife Gita, and our young daughter Nora—left our comfortable life in the UK and arrived in Latvia to care for Gita’s ageing parents. It was a sudden and unplanned leap into the unknown, leaving us with no time to prepare, train, or even fully process what lay ahead.
We hit the ground running, stepping into the world of homesteading with no prior experience. What many would see as a weakness became our greatest strength—we approached every challenge with fresh eyes, open minds, and a willingness to experiment. With no preconceived notions holding us back, we tackled big challenges head-on, learning through trial, error, and determination.
The road wasn’t easy. There were struggles, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but each one pushed us to adapt, problem-solve, and grow. We quickly realised that traditional farming methods weren’t the answer we were looking for. The constant ploughing and tilling didn’t feel sustainable (both on the land and on us), and we knew there had to be a better way. So, we took risks and embraced innovative, regenerative growing techniques that aligned with our vision of a sustainable, self-sufficient future.
Over time, we transformed our land, our practices, and ourselves. Along the way, we discovered not just how to grow food, but how to build a resilient lifestyle that supports us and nurtures the land. The journey has shaped who we are, and it’s given us a passion to share what we’ve learned.
Today, our mission is to guide others on their own homesteading journey, whether they’re just starting out or looking to take their efforts to the next level. We’ve been there—facing uncertainty, grappling with challenges, and taking leaps of faith – and now, we’re here to offer the insights and tools that can make the journey smoother for you.
